Join us this new year and celebrate it on the mountain near Børgefjell National Park. We will be skiing with pulkas (sleds) This tour suits everyone from a beginner to the ones that have some experience in winter camping from before. After tour, you will get a private tour of Namsskogan Wildlife Park (Namsskogan Familiepark)

    • Hotel. For this trip we would recommend Namsskogan Hotel. Great place to start and to end your trip from. Contact us if interested in the booking of Hotel accommodations.

    How to stay warm:

    • Long thermal underwear top and bottoms (Preferably of wool)
    • Thick wool jumper
    • Thick wool/fleece trouser

    • Face mask or a buff
    • Warm hat (preferably made of wool)
    • Mittens (not finger gloves)
    • Inner finger gloves for mittens
    • Wind and waterproof jacket
    • Wind and waterproof trousers

    Change of clothes:

    This is really important if any of your clothing gets wet or damp from rain, snow or sweat.

    • Long thermal underwear top and bottom (Preferably of wool)

    Please be aware that you might experience cloudy days, white-out and even a snowstorm. Therefore its important that you also are prepared for that

DAY 1

We meet at our Tundra Tours adventure centre located at Namsskogan Train Station at 10am. Be sure to have a proper breakfast this morning before we head off on our New Year Tour! We do recommend porridge as it is filling and gives lots of energy for a long periode trough out the day. Also make sure to bring along lunch and a thermos as well as a water bottle that you will have handy for our breaks while hiking. Some chocolate and nuts are also good to have in your pockets to give that extra energy when walking. All of our equipment such as pulks (sleds) ski, skie poles and backpacks get loaded in to the cars. If you need to rent skies or sleeping bag, then let us know in advance so we can set aside for you for when you arrive. You pay for the rental on the day of pick up. Everything of food for the hike, will Tundra Tours organic, so please let us know if you are allergic to anything or if you have any special preference. Please note we don’t have any 5 star kitchen with us, but we have expedition food for this tour. It will be dinner and breakfast. We do recommend that your bring your own cops and food bowl, if you don’t have, then don’t worry we have you covered. But please let us know in advance so we know what we need to pack before the tour. Are you ready to EXPLORE! After a short journey by car (roughly 10 – 15 min) are we at our starting point. We will hike in the mountains way over the tree line at 750meters over the sea. We skie for few hours before we set camp. As soon as camp is made, the dinner will be prepared next. After dinner we get the chance do have some fun, or simply relax with a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate. We are here to enjoy ourselves, before we all get to gather to ring in the new year! If the weather permit we might be so lucky to have the northern lights do a new year show for us as it dances over the sky.

DAY 2

We start the year 2020 waking up in our tents after a night in the snow. Bernie your guide will serve up coffee or tea as well as the breakfast of course. Today we will take in the last of the spectacular view before we pack down our camp and start heading back to the cars. We drive collectively back to the Tundra Tours Adventure Centre where all of the rental gear and pulks get returned before we head to Namsskogan Familiepark (Wildlife Park) where we end the tour with a private tour of the park. We will see Arctic Fox’s, Wolverines, Lynx and so much more. So again don’t forget your camera!
